The first stage for the KSLV-1 carrier rocket, which was produced by the Khrunichev space center, was delivered by rail to the city of Ulyanovsk from where it was brought on board a cargo plane to the South Korean airport of Pusan.
The first launch of the KSLV-1 carrier rocket with the Russian first stage took place on August 25, 2009 from South Korea's first space center on the island of Naro. The second launch of the KSLV-1 is scheduled for June 2010.
KSLV-1, built in cooperation with Russia, is based on the Angara carrier rocket. The carrier rocket is designed to deliver small satellites into low orbit and can carry a payload of up to 100 kg
